Snuffles

This has been brought up by other HP fans; i kind of agree with it, so i thought I'd bring it up.
Why couldn't have Harry rode on a broomstick to catch Snape and Malfoy, at the end of the book?" In the book, it clearly stated that there were two broomsticks at the tower, which is why the Ministry could figure out Harry was there. So, the question is.. "why didn't Harry ride one?"
Some contradictions has been made to this. First, the enchantment around the Hogwarts castle... They could have worked against Harry even if he did try to fly out to the school gate. Then, Harry was in so much shock and panick that he couldn't get his thoughts straight out.
But here's the thing: Harry didn't have to fly out of the school grounds. It was only to the school gate, before Snape and Malfoy had a chance to escape by Disapparating. Sure, Harry must have panicked and all... but... it seems such a.. coincidence that Snape and Malfoy would get away, right?
What are your thoughts to this?
