When will the 7th book come out?

I hope this is the right section. Anyways, I keep hearing about how the next book will come out in 2 years. If it is true, where does it say that?! Because I honestly think it will come out in 4 years and be like 800+ pages.

i wouldnt mind waiting 4 years if it was going to be really long like 1000 pages or something that would make it worth it, although if somehow i was handed a copy tomorrow i wouldnt complain either, lol, the thing is once the 7th book is written theres nothing to look forward too only the movies and for mw they arent as exciting as the books, i like the the movies but its just not the same, :rolleyes: :eek:

I believe it is 2 years until book 7 comes out. But I don't think it was mentioned how long it was going to be. I hope it is 1000+ pages. That would be a great read!

Its a shame that no more Harry Potter books are going to be released after the next. Thats going to put a dent in my life. All we will have to look forward to is the movies as amyleigh13 said, and then that wont even be that exciting. We know what is gonna happen. *sighs* Oh well.

JKR once said it might take 1000 pages to finish the story - that was around the time OotP was released, but in a recent interview she said it probably wouldn't be as long as OotP, but she wasn't for sure yet.

JKR said she has started writing, but not in earnest yet. She also said that she won't really start "fulltime" writing until next year, but I don't know if that means Jan. 1! So, I think we've definitely got at least two years, but I would guess that it's more likely three. So my vote is for 2008.

I'm going to be optimistic here and say summer 2007, but again that is being really optimistic! JKR gave the impression that she thought it would be about 2 years, and I think that would probably be pretty accurate, considering thats about how long it took her to write HBP, and that was during her pregnancy!

My guess, about eighteen months to two years. I believe that J.K.Rowling has already begun the book. In an interview with her a little while back on TV it was said that she already had the ending chapter to book seven written and resides inside a safe in an undisclosed place.

Well thanks everyone for clearing it up. I thought that there might an interview somewhere where she said it was 2 years the way people kept talking about it. Yeah, I'm going to be saddened by the end of Harry Potter as well.

I had heard 2 years too, but also I have read that she is going to make an "encyclopedia" of HP characters, their backgrounds and so forth. And I swear, that I have seen an interview somwehere where she was hedging a little on the "definately no more after book 7" so. . . hope is not dead!

Yep - 2 years from me as well ...
I think July 2007 - seems the last 2 books were in and around this time - so why not be consistant and make the third one a summer release ...
It will be sad to see the last word she writes - but we all knew it was coming - so guess we make the best of the next few years!
