Do we know how Voldermort ended up getting his own wand back? He was reduced to less than a Spirit, ripped from his body. Wouldn't his wand have stayed behind at the Potter's house?

We don't know exactly how Voldemort got his wand back. But we do know it is his wand. In the end of GoF, when Harry's and Voldemort's wands are forced to battle each other, the Prior Incantum wouldn't have happened if the wands with the same cores hadn't been forced to fight each other.

We also know this is Voldemort's wand, not some random wand that just happens to match Harry's because Olivander wrote Dumbledore to tell him the wand that Tom Riddle bought.

OK, Wormtail gave it to him - because he also used that wand to kill Bryce and also Cedric ...
Now then - the interesting point is how Wormtail got it - because as we know the Potters house was in ruins and not like Wormtail would have been in a hurry to go back to the Potter's house ...
I think this might be a septology answer - as in we will find out in Book 7 - because at the moment we can only assume that Wormtail got it for him - exactly where and when is a question mark ...

Yep, JKR said that Wormtail went into the destroyed house after Voldemort was dispatched and took his cloak and wand, thus there was no trace of him left in the house at all, just the dead Potters and baby Harry with a scar.

Fortesque, TY I have read and read JKR Interviews and couldn't find this!

I had narrowed it down to wormtail and Bertha Jonkins, because interestingly, when the spells come back out of it in GoF, only the killings come out, not any spells for magic at all, such as it would take to burn a house, or such as Wormtail would have needed when he first got Voldermort the crude half/body thing.
As there was nothing done between Lily and Berta, I decided Wormtail must have used Bertha's wand when they used the Unicorn Blood, Nagini's venom and a spell or two that Voldermort had invented. Because Wormtail did not have his own wand. It was sent to his mom with his finger, (Lucky her, getting a finger).

And that brings me to a new thread :)

Not sure that Accio works on people but we do know tghat the exact location of an object does not need to be known, just specific details of it. In GoF Ron sugests that Harry use Accio to get an aqualung to go into the lake during the second test. Harry (I think it was Harry - not too sure my memory is up to this) dismisses this saying that it might attract too much attention, an aqualung flying accross the british countryside.

With Piper here - I dont remember JKR saying that Wormtail defo went back and got the wand and cloak ... would you be able to find that because I might have missed an interview

Piper - if you refer to Priori Incantem in GoF - there was a few spells missing from Voldemort's wand when the shadows played back - I think the shadows were selective :p
