Hogwarts without Harry...and Ron...Hermione...Malfoy...Dumbledore...Snape...

Wow! It will be a completely different school! For starters, if Neville stays he may even top his class without Snape there to frighten the daylights out of him! Without Harry, the students will have noone to base their gossip upon. Without Malfoy, the rest of the Slytherins will have to - shock horror- think for themselves! There are so many changes that will happen within the school boundries it is almost going to be a different school! If it happens.

I am predicting that Harry will return to Hogwarts to go by the wishes of Dumbledore and Lupins influence. I think Harry will visit DD on the wall in the office.

Oh this is so weird! I have a thought- and then contradict myself! He can't stay at Hogwarts because that wont leave him enough time to find Horcruxes. Unless the new headmaster allows him to take time off to go hunting for them...McGonagall will be somewhat informed of the situation I am sure so if she is the new Headmistress...lol maybe Harry will be allowed to hunt Horcruxes in his frees...UGH! I am going around in circles!

I started this thread to get your thoughts on Harry and the rest not returning to Hogwarts- Do you think Harry will return? If not, will Ron and Hermione? After what has happened will Draco come back? Who do you think will/won't return to Hogwarts?

Great idea for a new thread Kez, I'm gonna need a pensieve to get my head round all the ideas I could have if Hogwarts doesnt close in book 7!!!

I don't think harry will return to the school for his education, but I do think he will go back, to seek advice from DD in the painting in the headmasters office, and use anything else that Hogwarts has too offer.

I can't really see a way for Draco to go back to Hogwarts, maybe Snape will take him under his wing as they will both be very unpopular to begin with (even if Snape does turn out to be a good guy, people will hate him untill they find out!)

I have a feeling Ron and Hermione will want to help Harry as much as they can, so they may not go back either. Does this pave the way for Neville to become head boy??

Harry wouldn't tell Mcgonagall what he and Dumbledore were up to in HBP, but if she became headmaster I think DD (in the painting) could trust her enough to tell her the 'crux' of the problem in defeating LV. Would she be able to help Harry???

If Hogwarts remained closed, maybe the Order of the Phoenix could use it to their advantage.........

My head is buzzing, this will keep me awake at work for once!!

OK - Harry will have to go back to Hogwarts!
I said this before - but the series is built around Hogwarts, the school, the teachers, the pupils - well everything is about Hogwarts.
In order for Harry not to go back - it would really make the last book seem strange.
I think he can do both things - I think he will nail a Horcrux or 2 during the summer and then he has his winter break - plus other chances to vanish for a day or 2.
I just cant imagine a book with no Hogwarts - it would mess with the storylines of Neville, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Ginny = well pretty much all the characters outside of Harry himself.
I think JKR can make it so Harry does both - it just wouldnt be right that Harry doesnt complete the school year ... of course unless he dies at the end  :D
