In OotP, Harry must learn Occulumency to block Voldemort from his thoughts. It is discovered that they are sharing thoughts, when Harry has a vision of himself attacking Mr. Weasley in the form of a giant snake. Everyone believes that snake to be Nagini, and it very well could be. But what if the snake is actually Voldemort? Why would Harry be seeing Nagini's thoughts? The connection is with Voldemort, not his minions.
Also, since Harry has ended up following James so closely in so many ways, I feel he will discover he is an animagus in book 7. True, James had to learn to become one, but I think Harry will be a natural due to his singular uniqueness in the wizarding world.

Yeah you're right!!! I always thought Harry had dreams of himself as Nagini because Voldemort could possess animals. OOPPPSS! :o Very embarrased now.:(
I think I kinda just answered this one in another thread ...
OK - If Voldemort did use Nagini as a Horcrux - a side effect if using a living being as a Horcrux is that a connection occurs - he looks like a snake - Nagini talks to him and has a understanding that is unspoken.
You missed the part where Harry and co are about to use a portkey - and for a brief second Harry wanted to strike at Dumbledore like a snake.
What we are seeing is Harry in Voldemort's mind - with Voldemort and his mind controlling Nagini ... Sounds a bit tenuous right?
I don't think so - the same way Harry looks a little like Riddle - and he is connected to Voldemort, has some of his powers, brother wand is because some of Voldemort is in Harry - and also in Nagini ... what you are seeing is the side effects of hosting a Horcrux in another living element ...
IMHO :o
So in conclusion - I dont think it is his animagus - it is his Horcrux!
(Sorry to take another thread down a Horcrux path :o )
