in PS/SS, Voldemort tried to come back with the help of unicorn's blood, then trying to get hold of PS.
in CoS, Tom Riddle has used diary in the form of memory and tried to suck life from Ginny to reform.
then in GoF, he said to DEs, who knew i have taken steps to guard myself against mortal death.
first thing, are there more steps to be known in future....?
secondly, will volde take more steps towards that particular direction before having the final battle with harry.

I completely agree with you kausarqadir!

Voldemort has probably taken many precautions in order to stick around and to try and guard against being defeated by Harry, Dumbledore, or indeed any other wizard! This is one of my theories, however, that he will be killed by a something more "ordinary" or Muggle-like, perhaps by stabbing, something that he cannot guard against.

Oooh I like the theory Tink.

I agree, Voldemort is sure to take more measures in the future, just as he has in the past. I think they will continue to be simple yet effective, things that Hogwarts students will be learning about, so the Harry, Ron and Hermione have a chance to stop him.

There's another thread around here somewhere that talks about the steps Voldemort took in the past - perhaps one of our intrepid Unspeakables can find it for us and make a link . . .?

As for steps in the future - yes, I think he is constantly looking for ways to improve his chances at immortality. Whether or not we will be privy to those attempts remains to be seen.

From what JKR has said in interviews, it seems likely that we will find out at the very least the precautions he took awhile ago (aside from the ones we know already) - I think the ones we will find out about are those he took before he attacked the Potters. The ones that he refers to in his graveyard speech to the DEs.

Might want to try here (http://www.maturepotter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93)

I have no issues in the steps he took long ago - but notice he took them long ago and not any mention of things to come.
I really dont feel that he was able to move forward in time - because if he was he would have seen what would become of him and all the steps he took.
He was preseted with an opportunity at some point when he heard he might be vanquished and when he ultimatly was - he took the opportunity to make some changes in the past he felt might keep him alive - just in case - insurance maybe - but he was not able to go past where he was when he started!
There is no doubts that he was able to get back - he even said it blatantly - but to think he was able to move forward would just seem to really hurt the storyline of Potter - I just dont think there is a device that can make you see the future - because it hasnt happened and can be changed - the past is written and stands testiment to the events that have expired.
