Haley's Comet

Yes, the book is 700 odd pages long, and there are going to be some cuts.
I read on one official website that J.K.Rowling has ok'd the cutting for the fireplace scene. Winky and Dobby are going to be cut and so is the whole issue in regard to the S.P.E.W. thing. I suppose it's not really a great loss, but not long ago I also read on another "official" H.P. website that the very scenes I have just described WERE going to be included in the movie. Talk about up and down!
It looks as though we will see the yule ball scene with no cuts. It's very rare that a movie ever does the book justice and it will probably be proved in this case, and I can understand that trying to include everything in a H.P. movie the size of Goblet of Fire would have us in a theatre chair for four, perhaps five hours.
Many of us would do that and not bat an eyelid over it. I could sit and watch Potter for hours on end, but I suppose they have to be practical. What I think could be a good idea is to have an extended version of G.O.F on DVD, or VHS where you watch the whole thing. It would be a nice choice if it could be swung.
Perhaps if J.K.Rowling used a bit of her persuasion it might happen. I'd have no problem sitting at home with a pot of tea, some biscuits and such, and settling down to a double DVD set of G.O.F for four, maybe five hours. A great way to spend the day!
"I'm your huckleberry."
