What if . . .

I posed this question in another thread, but I think it fits here better. What exactly would have happened to Voldemort's original piece of soul left floating around vapor-like if Tom Riddles diary...

Re: Ahead of his time?

The way I see it, just because you learn something one year doesn't mean you can't wait a few months before you write it down. It could have been in his 5th year potions book too, we've neevr seen...

Re: What was Voldemort in PS/SS

I see that this thread hasn't seen a post since the release of the seventh book. However I feel it is still a valid debate. What exactly was Voldemort in the first book. And how did he come to be so?...

Cool Re: The Elder Wand

Actually, yeah you may have said this to be funny. But you are very right. That kind of power is tempting as hell, and what Harry did with the wand was incredibly unstable. there's not even any magic...

Re: The Elder Wand

All I'm saying is Grindlewald HAD to have had its allegiance for DD to later have its allegiance, and therefore Draco, and then Harry. If Grindlewald never had its allegiance then the wand would...

Re: The Elder Wand

Because there's nothing apart from the fairy tale that suggested that the elder wand was impossible to beat. Plus while Grindlewald was schooled at Durmstrang, Dumbledore had a more well rounded...

Re: The Elder Wand

I tend to disagree. I believe that in order to earn the alliance of the wand you must win it or TAKE it. Stealing it works just as well, I think, as long as the wand was not GIVEN, it's allegiance...

Re: The Elder Wand

There's still an issue . . . if that was the case DD would have had to defeat Gregorovitch before the wand gave it's allegiance to him. NOT Grindlewald.

As for the possesion of all three items...

Re: The Elder Wand

I think you're exactly right. Three objects all very powerful were crafted by three extraordinary wizards. The fairy tale was obviously an embellishment, not to be taken word for word literally.

Re: Perhaps we sort too soon........

The way I see it it, everything happened the way it did for a reason. Snape HAD to be in Slytherin. If he hadn't been, chances are he would have married Lily, and been killed in place of James and...

Re: Were you satisfied with DH and what were your reviews?

I must say that it would take a wizard with cajones the size of beach balls to attempt to steal the wand of the wizard who tops the Auror department at the newly revolutionized Ministry of Magic. :D ...

Cool Re: Were you satisfied with DH and what were your reviews?

The one thing apart from many of the things mentioned here that kinda bothered me was that after the talk of Harry being a good candidate for extreme power because it was thrust upon him rather than...

Re: A geam of something like triumph

I apologize sincerely for stepping in betwixed this maze of VERY interesting and brilliant speculation . . . but I read somewhere (can't recall my source) that Dumbledore may have had that look of...

Re: Dumbledore let Moaning Myrtle die!

I think maybe DD lives by a "let's not try to change fate" mentality. . . he doesn't let anyone die if he can help it, but if he see's it as she/he's gonna die reguardless, maybe for the greater...

Re: Cyclic nature of time

Ok, I got confused. . . I see now, that she meant hold on to that one, as in hold on to that edition of the book. . .sorry, I know you even said it, but I still got really confused. My bad.

I...

Re: Cyclic nature of time

So she suggested the Voldemort and Salazaar are one and the same? my brain itches and I can't scratch it!!

If this is so, then who was that child DD found in the orphanage and watched grow up?

Re: Cyclic nature of time

A deliberate error? was she suggesting that Voldemort was salzaars dad/grandpa or great to the *blank* power relative? in the OTHER direction? I HATE time travel. . .

So let me get this strait. . .just to see if I'm following you correctly. You're saying that DD has a master plan to defeat Voldemort, and whilst trying to follow through with this master plan he was...

Re: Dumbledore let Moaning Myrtle die!

Well I for one am die hard in my belief that DD is/was a good guy, and that he would never do any INTENTIONALLY to hurt someone. Oh, and about what ALZ said. . .maybe Voldemort was useing the...

Re: Is Dumbledore Dead?

I voted no soley because I don't want to believe that he's dead. I for one don't think the way he died, did him justice. Such a powerful wizard such a desperate curse, no way. DD shouldn't be killed...

Re: Dumbledore let Moaning Myrtle die!

I don't think he's as powerful as people think he is, based on JKR's descriptions, he's far from God. DD himself even admits that he's no where near perfect. Every human makes mistakes, ALZ said that...

Re: The Veil and the Horcrux

Ok, I'm still curious about this veil, it's funny how topics can shift. . . lol.

I don't think jkr would have introduced something that powerful to the series without intending it for a pourpose...

Re: Dumbledore let Moaning Myrtle die!

Eh, merely writers liscence, I suspect. JK needed to have a dead student, so she wrote one in. DD isn't superman, and I think riddle may have had some experience in occlumency by that time, lets see...
