Re: Slytherin's Locket

This happens to be the oldest thread on my "List of Subscribed Threads". I just want to leave this message to show that I visited The Final Horcrux today ;-)
Now that the days of speculation are...

Re: Open Letter To Jkr- Please Help

Paintball, you should think about your own obsession with Harry Potter, in my opinion. No offence intended.

Re: the whimpering boy/thing? kings cross

I've only just realized that this is in the general section, not the "expect loads of spoilers" section.
So if you haven't finished the book, don't read on.
Maybe one of the Unspeakables can move...

Re: JKR Devistated if anyone guesssed

Can you point us to the full text of the interview? I've never heard anything of the kind.

Edit: O.K., thanks for the link.
Well, what I think it is: First, the "Harry is a horcrux" element,...

Re: For the greater good (SPOILIERS!!)

Thanks for pointing that out - I just remembered that Voldemort found him there. But now I've looked up where it occurs (towards the end of ch. 18), and, wow, you are most certainly right.

Re: For the greater good (SPOILIERS!!)

Hi anthony,

I agree with a number of parallels that you point out, except for two that really don't work, in my opinion.

I think the parallel to Nurmengard is Nuremberg...

In Elphias Doge's text in Ch. 2:

Apart from that - I think there isn't.

Elder Wand - multiple significance?

This is a question I'm addressing specifically to all the native speakers of English here. There is a German forum I'm also a member of, and one of the hotly discussed topics is the name of the first...

Re: This is a face of smugness

Well spotted, frodobaggins. Yes, that must be the point when Harry was making sure his theory was correct (he must have started thinking about it a little previously, or else he couldn't have had...

Re: Questions, Unanswered...**Spoilers**

You're right - and what Harry says to LV in the final duel goes to prove it:

"Think, and try for some remorse, Riddle. . . ."
"What is this?"
Of all the things that Harry had said to him, beyond...

Re: 'two died that i didnt intend to, one character got a reprieve'

I think there's no way of telling who she was referring to in that statement. It was cryptic, and still is.

Re: What was your number 1 favorite thing in the book?

In addition to how it all ends - Harry causing LVs death without killing him, plus the epilogue - it's little details that I like a lot.
- Harry calling LV by his real name (same as halliemei)
-...

Re: This is a face of smugness

I'm quite happy with the book - including the happy ending (which I was hoping for).
As I read HP7, there is no support at all for the DiE theory. The only period in DD's life that obviously doesn't...

Re: Unspoiled and Finished!!!!!!!

Don't feel depressed at all, nor overwhelmed with the answers. I feel quite satisfied and happy. - Well done, JKR. :-)

And, I must admit: Some of the discussions here prepared me for some of the...

Re: Chapter Titles

My guesses:

- The Power of the Phoenix
- Dumbledore's Man Through and Through
- The Locked Room
- The Weasleys Strike Back (I know this is much too obvious - JKR likes her titles a little...

Re: Harry is his Mother's Horcrux

There has been a thread on this already.
I'm afraid your theory or speculation does not stand the test of comparing it to what is said about horcruxes in JKR's books. Horcruxes are evil by...

Re: What/Who does Luna Lovegood represent?

Well spotted, gbogbo! I never considered Luna's name from that angle, but you're right.
I agree that Luna is a model of patience and balance, she is full of optimism. For one, I recall her...

Re: What was She howling about? (Speculative Spoiler)

Terry Pratchett once wrote something cute about the use of multiple punctuation signs.
Well, get a grip. It could well be that JKR cried from exhaustion and because of realizing that the whole...

Re: The SS/PS and Deathly Hallows trap theories, A different Perspective

I agree with your last sentence most.

The more I think about it, the less I like the idea of DD and Snape switching places (sorry, paintball). I think it makes the whole plot unnecessarily...

Re: Will Harry die?

Dr Winterbourne: Thanks a lot! Your comparison of a horcrux to an anchor for the first time made me see some sense in the whole horcrux business. At first I thought a horcrux was some sort of spare...

Re: Will Harry die?

How did that work? Voldemort's body was killed by his own "AK" curse being reflected from Harry's forehead, but his soul wasn't? Strange, I think.

But the center of the problem is, of course: JKR...

Five Ways to End Harry Potter

I just found this at the web site of the New York Times. It's a really hilarious collection of speculative endings for Book 7, some of them show quite an impressive amount of insight on the author's...

Re: Will Harry die?

How do you know? Does someone say so explicitly? I've been convinced (so far) that Voldemort survived precisely because he managed to "uncork" one of his horcruxes. Am I wrong?
