From the BBC Newsround website;

The title of the seventh and final Potter book has been revealed - it's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
The title was revealed on JK Rowling's website, and her spokesperson in Edinburgh confirmed to Newsround that it is the title.
JK made her fans work for the title though, because you have to play a game on the website to access it.
You have to find a secret door, work out how to open the door and then play a game of hangman to learn the title.

Could this mean an action packed Halloween?

Re: Book 7 name revealed
I think it'll more likely be another graveyard, as in hallowed ground, as in, where mom and dad are buried. CNN is also reporting it.
Personally, I think it's a silly title, but then until you read each book, all the titles seem sort of silly.

Re: Book 7 name revealed
... I had a better one
Once again JKR keeps everyone from the real name ... and what an interesting name is it not?
Deathly Hallows ... doesnt sound good for Harry and co right
Sounds almost like Voldemort's home address - bit like Godrics Hollow!
This will mean something in the books - all titles have to date ... It is a grower me thinks but I think she should have gone with The Final Horcrux ... but then again I am biased right

I found the following reference to “Hallows”

Could this indicate further help from Dumbledore, Sirius, James and Lily?

From Celtic Spirit.

Some believe that Samhain was the more important festival, marking the beginning of a whole new cycle, just as the Celtic day began at night. For it was understood that in dark silence comes whisperings of new beginnings, the stirring of the seed below the ground. Whereas Beltane welcomes in the summer with joyous celebrations at dawn, the most magically potent time of this festival is November Eve, the night of October 31st, known today of course, as Halloween.

Re: Book 7 name revealed
I voted that I like the title. I don't think I really like it now, but I think I will once I have read the book.
I'm going to have to come on here more often to find out the scoop. I didn't see this until just now. So while everybody else is like 'Duh! There's a title for book 7 now." I'm like, "Wow! There's a title for book 7 now!"
