The only ways we see a horcrux get destroyed though is

1) via basilisk tooth (Harry - diary; Hermione - cup)
2) with the sword (Dumbledore - ring; Ron - locket; Neville - Nagini)
3) by the bad guys (Crabbe w/ fire - diadem; Voldemort w/AK - Harry)

What I was suggesting is that all of these methods involved using things that the Baddies had created. Even Hermione couldn't produce that flame, but Crabbe could because he was instructed in the dark arts.

There may well exist other ways of destroying them, but they were never shown or mentioned. All of the modes of Horcrux destruction we saw involved plans of dark wizaeds turning against them.

I have spent a ridiculous amount of time mulling that particular "hint". I've posted in numerous threads on this site about this very issue. Dudley? Petunia? Mrs. Figg? Filch? WHO COULD IT BE?!?!?!?! Oh---oops----sorry----abandoned that idea after the 3rd book.....
