Re: Time Turners, A huge mistake or a huge clue????

The circular form of the argument is inevitable, since the movement of people back and forth resembles a circle. This does not exclude the validity of rational explanations, however.
If you think logically, there is only one way of interpreting the time turner business. If you don't, it doesn't matter anyway. ;-)

Re: Time Turners, A huge mistake or a huge clue????

well he is kind of correct in a way. SC, I hear in your posts that you are trying your best to state your ideas about use of TT.
Please believe me when I say, that I am equally amazed at why people cant see what the flaw here is.

Let us forget buckbeak and Sirius and others.

What I am trying to say is, if a device can be used to go back in past and change things, and there are more than one of them, then limiting their use to couple of times and not explaining why they havent been used more to change even more things, is ridiculous.
Either they have been used before consistently, by able people, to change things the way they wanted, and we will know about them later,
OR
the introduction of them was one time only ( which is a huge mistake IMHO)
and I wish JKR tells us of her purpose in doing that.

If you are willing to change "ridiculous" into "strange", I'll agree with you.

Yes you are right. Ridiculous is a little extreme. I will also put it as "strange".
thanks SC.

Re: Time Turners, A huge mistake or a huge clue????

I wonder if that is why in JK's books the time turners are restricted and you have to state your case as to why you need to use one. Hermione in POA said she had to have Prof. Mcgonnigal get her one and there was a lot of red tape to get it.

Perhaps in the past (way before Harry's parents were killed and Voldy was on the rise ) wizards were running wild with time turners and the ministry took control of the situation and only allows their use under cetain cicumstances and only for use like in the case of Hermione in which she wasn't really altering the future just going to lessons.

Re: Time Turners, A huge mistake or a huge clue????

I'm sure even JKR had to apply for permission to use a time turner in her book :-))
