Question A Wand Apart?

I realized this as they talk about how once a wand is broken, it usually can't be fixed. Harry's wand broke, and didn't work...and Ron's wand, back in Chamber of Secrets, snapped as well, and malfunctioned.

BUT!!!

What about Hagrid? His wand was cleanly SNAPPED IN TWO when he was expelled...no parts of it even touching like Harry's or Ron's wands. However, he uses it in full function, the 2 halves brought back to a whole as his pink umbrella, book after book...What's up with that?

Re: A Wand Apart?

At the end of the Deathly Hallows, Harry repairs his broken wand with the Elder Wand;

DH pg 599

'He laid the broken wand upon the Headmaster's desk, touched it with the very tip of the Elder Wand and said, 'reparo.'
As his wand resealed, red sparks flew out of its end. Harry knew that he had succeeded. He picked up the holly and phoenix wand, and felt a sudden warmth in his fingers, as though wand and hand were rejoicing at their reunion.'

When Hagrid's wand was snapped in two, Dumbledore owned the Elder Wand, and could have repaired it for him.

Don't you think he did? Hagrid's wand worked fine . . . it was disguised as his pink umbrella remember? Hagrid was not "allowed" a wand after his expulsion, but DD repaired it and then disguised it so Hagrid could use it still.

Re: A Wand Apart?

To be factual, the books don't ever say specificaly that DD repaired the wand, but . . . the facts exist, Hagrid's wand was snapped, but he has an umbrella (but why oh why pink?) works quite well at casting spells. Doesn't take a genious to figure out the obvious, espcialy now knowing that DD had a wand that could do that!
