Hi All

As we car crash into the final installment of the Potter series -
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - it is time to create the final forums for discussion.

I have created 4 new forums for discussion as below:
- Deathly Hallows Speculation
-
Deathly Hallows - Chapter by Chapter
-
Deathly Hallows - Analysis
-
Deathly Hallows - The Answers

Deathly Hallow Speculation is now open for posting. Please be aware that by reading the contents of this forum it may contain spoliers - be it correct speculation or someone who may get an early preview - so please be warned!

I will open the remaining forums on the day before the release - my best advice having been through a few new book launches - dont review until you have read the book fully!
I can not be liable for any spoil factor - I will of course try and keep things from being obvious but still - the threat is there.
I would ask, that when I do open these forums you do not place spoliers in the title of the thread - just keep them generic, place the spoliers inside the threads!

Any questions, comment, concerns - please PM or reply to this thread.
Any idea's - please let me know

Thanks
Alz

let me just say that you have done a fantastic job, Alz. i couldn't have had a better experience of Harry Potter without everyone here. I haven't been around as much lately due to uni and child commitments, but my loyalty has never waned!

it has been a joy to share this with you!

be prepared for an influx of posts from me on the 22nd of July though! I have dedicated the entire weekend to reading and posting!

Yes Alz, you have done a wonderful job here. You have made this a great place to discuss things logicaly without kiddy bickering and nonsense posting. I'll be hanging around to post untill the 6:00 my time . . . poor Alz . . . this time around I will have my book before you do!

OH! yeah . . . Alz . . . don't forget a forum for our book parties and pics! I'm going to dress up again, but this time as Molly Can't wait for you all to see the sweater!

Sounds like fun SPF i wish i could join but im dissapointed to say that i am the only one in my fmily that is into Harry Potter to this extent although they like it but not like me and in Aussie land they arent doing much for it at least not in my state so im very annoyed that i will be doing everything alone again i will party away by myself by reading the last book and having a few drinks to drink away the end lol...:D

Alz you have done a great job and i am very glad and honoured to have been able to enjoy what i have from this site after coming across it last year as i have been a big Harry Potter fan for a long time but like i said have done it pretty much alone hardly anyone to talk to so my ideas arent as plentyful but atleast now iv had somewhere to put some of my thoughts and have the chance to read many other smart ideas, so for that i cant thank you enough ALZ :D, but anyway i think this is long and boring enough, i will be still coming on here until the book comes out but i will try hard not to spoil anything for myself, thanks again ALZ..:p

Yes, thanks to you Alz. I am so attached to the site that i am even checking and reading from a public kiosk in heathrow! /the site is truly amazing and although I only joined last fall, I have been an adult HP fan forever. So nice to have found others to talk to.

Yeah, me too, Alz. I have no idea who you are, but there was a definite feeling of absence during your... absence. And a feeling that we had a guide once again when you came back.

I'm in Korea for some rediculous reason, and I just hope I can get my hands on an English (or, at least, an American) version on the 21st.

Wow DW . . . I hadn't thought much of the difficulty of getting "english" versions for those out of country. I mean I don't think Alz will be terribly upset reading the American version, but, even though you may have picked up a bit of Korean, reading an entire book and interpreting it for yourself . . . probably not easy or fun . . . I truly wish you the best of luck. Have you contacted any local book sellers to order one from them, or have you gone through Amazon? Probably not too late to get one there.

Found an English bookshop down in Seoul. It'll only be the American one though.

I guess they're okay, except for the first. They seemed to ease up on the changes after that.

That whole Philospher's Stone thing still really rankles. And 'lemon drop', for some reason.

An interesting add here...
I am from Indian culture and my mother tongue is Hindi, but I have never read the books in my mother language.
I always thought that to be able to grasp the best information, and writing pattern, you have to read the book as the author wrote it. Since JKR is british, and writes in English, English book is the only version I would want to read. Because no matter how precise those translators are, they can never master the lyrics or wordings so good that the original book can be substituted with a different language book.
But then again, thats just me. :D

And of course.......

ALZ, many thanks to you mate, for providing us, Potter lovers, a world where we could share our views and knowledge about these masterpieces.

kudos....... :D

Cheers Alz, I've whiled away many hours on your site...its given me loads to think about...and always afterwards make me look at the books in a whole new light.

Don't you miss ol' Blighty, then?.

You'll be back. You'll miss the weather. It's july and raining. ( Unbelievable )

DrWinterbourne,
You could try buying the book from Amazon.com, that is what I have done, and they have guarenteed it by the 21st, it may not be too late to have it delivered there.

I wish I lived where I could get it at midnight, but here that woud require atleast a 45 mile one way drive through heavy deer country at night, probably in the rain as much as we are getting lately, so I guess I will wait on the UPS man:)
When I get my hands on it, I am certain I will not stop reading until I am done, my husband will even be out of town for the night:) I even have extra flashlights incase there is a storm and the electric goes out!

It's pretty sad to see the end of it come. And no other generation of Harry Potter readers will ever have what we have had, a 2 year delay to really stop and think before the last book. To review all of the other books. Really it's been a gift and an opportunity to really use our own imaginations. As much as we have wanted the final book sooner, it has given us something unique in having to wait, and this forum has been wonderful. It would not have been the same without it.
Thank you Alz for your time and effort:)

Hey thanks for the kind comments all! :D
It really has been my pleasure to host the best Harry Potter fans on the net!
We have such a wonderful mixture of great minds here - all of which come with a fantastic knowledge of the books and it really has been awesome sharing my thoughts, theories and out there posts with you all.
I have been doing this for over 4 years, been through a few different sites but The Final Horcrux remained, well the final site.
I have met some wonderful people over the years, had ohh so many headaches and problems, glitches and outages but the fact you are all here as we head into the last week of the Potter series means a great deal to me.

A site is just a site, it is the members that make it work - there are countless Harry Potter sites out in the WWW and I am proud you are all here with me to share the end of the series and the realization of the truth - no more speculation, the answers are coming!

All these years I have been a 'listener' and not a sit-down reader of the series. I have a Hogwarts iPod as well as all the CD's, which I have listened to over-and-over-and-over. Jim Dale is a genius! And, of course, so is JK, who has brought to us an entire new world.
Each time I listen to a book -- sometimes for the fourth or fifth time -- I hear different 'clues' -- perhaps in a different context. Sometimes I 'rewind' the part that instant and relisten to make sure I heard what I thought I heard.
After all these years thinking Snape was a dastaredly soul, I now believe he is Dumbledor's faithful -- beyond the end -- friend.
The most telling clue for this is when Ron gets poisoned in HBP and while his family is around his bedside, Hagrid and Harry leave the Hospital Wing. Hagrid tells Harry of a conversation he over-heard Snape and Dumbledor having in the forest. Snape said, "He did not want to do it." My guess is -- "it" was to kill Dumbledore. But Dumbledore knew he had to leave the stage so Harry could get at the Dark Lord himself.
What a great ride all this has been. Thanks for this site! Sue -- not a verb.

I came in a little late to this site but have found the discussions lively and intelligent and well thought out. Everyone seems to respect each others thoughts which is rare on the other sites.

This and HPFWNL are the two sites that I really ever log on to!

Thanks for the fun and I can't wait to discuss the new book with everyone!
